Not what I wanted to hear from Ward! Stevenson needs to defeat Alvarez and Beterbiev, and see what happens in the Kovalev vs. Ward rematch!

What would you have preferred Ward to say? Stevenson should stand in line. Was that first sentence a typo? I think I'm interpreting it incorrectly.

So Ward fans, you think Ward really rematches Kovalev next? I want to believe the best in Andre but outside of fighting Kovalev, which I didn't think he'd do and I give him credit for, he has given me reason in the past to be very nervous about him following through and actually doing the right thing for boxing... I hope I'm wrong. Boxing fans already waited years for the matchup, it would take all the air out of the division again if we had to wait more than 4 months for closure on this.

I'm telling you Kovalev is a bum and you keep making things up about his "abilities to step back and counter" and stuff like that, saying that Stevenson is not on his level. Kovalev never been a 1 punch KO artist, he's a hard hitter and he needs to land clean combinations so how he can defeat Ward? It's extremely difficult to land a clean combination on Ward. On the other hand, Stevenson can catch Ward clean with his left, he might be one-trick pony, but he knows how to use this trick a lot of different ways, and his offensive with his left hand can be really versatile sometimes

I don't really understand how you can sit here and put Kov so low on the totem pole, when he gave Ward all that he could handle just a few days ago. I'm not saying Stevenson is a bum, but Kov has shown that he can hang. Stevenson still has to fight Ward or Kov to properly be placed in that conversation.

Adonis knows they don't do business so why call Ward out. As far as I'm concerned it was an empty gesture and if Ward beats Kov a second time HBO may put him under contract so GGG and Ward eventually have to fight.

Beating a southpaw with no right hand is super tricky, it is possible Ward could win because Stevenson is all straight lefts with bad intentions really so he might be able to get away with that lame right hand of his against Stevenson. It would show me a lot if he could beat Stevenson, it is a shame it doesn't seem like that would be meaningful to a lot of people.

The rematch is important though, so I can feel those demanding that because it was a hard fought close fight and Kovalev certainly deserves to have it run back. I also think both guys can do better so I don't know if the rematch will be a similar fight. I like seeing different fights though, so to me they are fairly close in what I would want to watch.

Stevenson is so many levels below Ward and Kovalev, it'd be embarrassing.

Whatever people thought of the result Ward and Kovalev got in the ring with each other, Stevenson hasn't shared the ring with a live body since beating a recently demolished Chad Dawson.

Adonis has a left straight and no other weapons, his level of competition is the only reason he still has a belt.

Until the Ward fight I would say his comp was on par with Kovalev, who ducked out of their purse bid if you remember. Both had guys like Cloud and Campillio level, but Kovalev made a jump with Hopkins and Stevenson beat Fonfara, who would probably (at this point) beat everyone that Kovalev has beaten. Ward obviously has the best resume in the division, but lets not act like Stevenson and Kovalev are miles apart in opposition.

Might as well let Stevenson and Kovie have it out with the winner getting Ward. But since that ain't never going to happen let Stevenson sit a few more years in meaningless squander and lost opportunities to make millions and rant how great the voodoo Haitian witchdoctor is.
