I think the fight was stopped early, but Kovalev wasn't defending himself, it looked like he was trying to give Ward some head. He should've taken a knee to recover from that right hand that shook him to his boots and also front the low blows.

The bodywork from Ward, along with Kovalev being more active in this fight than the first one, tired Kova out.

Not saying Ward would win, but like I said I don't hate his chances vs Wilder or Parker. They aren't THAT big & they aren't the best boxers in the world while Ward isn't THAT small & is at least arguable the best boxer in the world.
