If Kovalev took Meldonium, he'd be busted by now.

Meldonium was placed on WADA's banned substances list on Jan.1 2016. It's a substances stays inside you for a long period of time, reportedly for several months. Kovalev fought on January 30, and underwent VADA testing and came up clean.

Most of the Russian fighters that got caught taking it are based out of Russia. Kovalev fights out of the US and has been fighting in the US since 2009.

If he had taken it at any point this year he likely would have been flagged, considering he's had 3 fights this year and has been VADA tested in each fight.

He gassed a bit in the Chilemba fight too and that was in Russia, plus this was the 3rd time he went 12 rounds and he threw a lot early, Ward also made smart investments to the body throughout the fight, remember Ward is left handed, so his jab to the body has some power behind it.
