Kovalev ****ed up by dominating the early rounds. Any round after that, that was

close or that kovalev didn't dominate ended up looking like a Ward round.

Think about it. If the fight would have played out backwards starting with the 12th round, the judges would have gave some of the pick em rounds to Kovalev instead of all of them to Ward.

If it played out backwards, the rounds kovalev dominated would have been 9-12th instead of 1-4 with a knockdown in the 11th. Kovalev would have won the fight.

it's all bias towards Ward because all the close rounds were given to Ward because it looked like a ward round since Kovalev looked like he fell off because his domination stopped. He didn't fall off, they were close rounds and some of them should have went to kovalev.

It would be interesting to see how someone would score this fight who hasn't seen it if they were only allowed to watch rounds 6-12.

    just my opinion.

I remember a few days before the fight someone on NSB saying that if Kovalev hurts Ward early but doesn't finish him it will look bad on Kovalev. Because he looked so dominant in the early rounds people tend to downplay his effectiveness in the later rounds when the fight became more competitive. It's natural to have lower expectations for the guy who was getting his @ss beat earlier in the fight when that guy starts to show resilience and becomes competitive. That's the danger of being so dominant early and letting the other guy get back into the fight.

Excellent thread. He made a supposed P4P dog look like a chihuahua running scared for his life.

If that was true they'd have given 3,4,5 to Ward which were all close rounds.
