kovalev has to rehydrate to about 190 on fight night, dude looked massive compared to ward, a huge reach advantage and freakish power to boot..with all of that on his side, he didn't want to engage the chicken legged, feather fisted ward on the inside AT ALL!! he immediately wrapped wards neck as soon as he got close. . yet ward is being blamed for them getting tangled up..ward went inside willing to exchange blows, kovalev was the one holding.

ward adjusted to his power and took over the second half, in a rematch he would dominate all the way through. .ward bullied the bully.

I don't ever remember Ward or his team talking so much after a fight. I don't think they're taking kind to people calling it a gift.

I honestly think an angry Kovalev won't help them as he'll look to brutally wear Ward down very early and I suspect unlike the 1st fight he 'll go downstairs early and often!

Not to mention Kov was contempt to box Ward

When Kov found his range for his own body shots late you can tell Ward was looking to survive at times and just rushing in(smart strategy to cut Sergey's power by half) also that knockdown could've been a KO if Kov would've got full torque and extension as he was countering SOG's counter right hand!

It was a great fight and hopefully Ward honors his rematch obligations and give the champ his chance to redeem himself and Ward a more clearer set of lines for victory! Thank God for these 2 warriors and elite fighters! Boxing needed this

I said outloud at that decision we are in for a bad night ! Kovalev has ****ty stamina that is not going to change in the rematch.Ward will dominate the mid late rounds again

Ward's only going to stop him if he finds a way to open him up completely and he's also exhausted because his 1-2's aren't hurting Kovalev even when they're flush
