Ward was a defensive wizard last night, he dodged practically everything Kovalev threw, very ineffective. There is a reason why Ward didn't touch the canvas again after getting dropped by a jab.
He took most of the pop of Kovalev's punches with his body work and rolling with them and flat out made him miss, if you can't see that YDKSAB
And people pointing to Ward's face as proof of him losing. I think he was just as marked against Barrera and Smith lol. Dude is light af, he'll always get marked up.

With that eloquent, incisive, correct analysis and understanding...including the etheral psychological things that take such chutzpa! like standing in front of a slugger and not getting taken out of your game plan, knowing what one punch can do to you.

Ward accomplished something remarkable in that fight imo, I agree with Paulie. People don't want to look carefully at Ward doing things like stepping into his midpoint of balance, to unload on the crusher...something i havent seen any fighter do since Marciano (its also how Tyson got beat against Evander cause Tyson could not do it properly).
      Excellent observation.

that fight unfolded the way Ward wanted, not the way Kovalev wanted..... honestly the rematch will be easier for Ward
Someone that actually points out one of the scoring criterion. Thanks
