    Kovalev p4p #1 Ward #2

I don't care if you had Ward winning. Kovalev proved last night he can box his ass off. P4P isn't about how you look knocking out bums in impressive fashion. It's about how you look against top competition. After last night who do you see outboxing Kovalev? Ward didn't outbox him. He had to dig deep and will his way to a win.

I'm happy for Kovalev. Dude goes anywhere to fight anybody. Doesn't complain about money or the politics of the sport. Even last night he didn't whine. He just wants his rematch and settle it in the ring. He made a lot of new fans last night. My casual friends were texting me saying he got robbed. I hope the PPV numbers are good for Kovalev's sake. He deserves to be a household name.

This wasn't Whitaker vs Chavez. No credible publication would do something like that.

Do you feel like Ward outboxed Kovalev last night? Outboxed in the traditional sense of the word?

It doesn't work that way unfortunately. Neither's stock has gone down as far as I'm concerned. Quite the opposite.

I still see both men as undefeated after last night. They both fought their hearts out and to be honest a draw would have been fairer on both. Ward show a lot of heart getting up from the 2nd round KD and Kov prove he can box if he had to.

What do you mean traditional sense? Being an out boxer and controlling distance? Kovalev was better at that range. Ward took over when he got inside and made it a dog fight. And he was very effective with his jab.

I don't think either should be a top p4p fighter after this fight. Ward can't throw a right hand, Kovalev can't dominate a guy who can't throw a right hand. It wasn't a good fight, forget what Max Kellerman and Roy Jones tell you

Because two top fighters fought each other. A close win over a top fighter is with way more than a KO of a bum. When you're fighting a top fighter you aren't going to look as good as you would fighting a can. I don't get why people don't understand this when it comes to P4P rankings. Even in Kovalev's close loss he proved he could box with one of the best of this generation. People like you would've made him P4P #1 if he KO'd Sharbanskky last night. That's not how it works.
