Round by round punch stats show how close the fight was. 6 of 12 rounds had a 1 punch landed difference. 2 more rounds had a 2 punches landed difference. So they were within 2 punches in 8 of 12 rounds.

If you were to give the guy that land the most punches each round then it would have been 6-6, so Kovalev would have won with the KD.

I honestly feel outside of round 2, you can make an argument for either guy in the other 11 rounds. At least an argument.

didnt see that much body work from ward. not many memorable bodyshots anyway, just some cuffing ones when they were clinched up.

        You didn't see that bodyjab??

        Those are scoring blows.

You didn't see those right hands to the body when Kovalev stepped out???

        Those are scoring blows.

Andre took away Kovalev's body jabs and established his own...after getting off the deck.

        Andre regulated Kovalev..he diffused him.

        He gassed him.

a body jab is probably the least significant scoring punch you can land. i can think of a couple of half decent body shots he landed and thats about it, and there wasnt many more significant shots upstair either.

Ward lost by 3 in my opinion and it was Ward who I was rooting for.......not a crazy decision as a lot of rounds were not easy to score but a bad one .

If you go by who landed more punches per round, it's 6-6 plus a KD for Kovalev means 114-113 for Kovalev.

Kovalev landed 17 more punches from rounds 1-6.

Ward landed 5 more punches from the 7th-12th. Which makes sense cause we would agree Ward did better in the 2nd half of the fight.

As I said, people that gave Ward every round after the 4th were displaying confirmation bias. You're not being honest with yourself...

                My balls.

                Kovalev won, period.

He was the better man in the fight, Ward did nothing to win and he was the contender, not the champion.

Ward won because he was the local girl in the fight, period.

Clear Robbery, everyone knows it except some very dumb people. Ward himself knows it, you just need to look at his reaction when he heard the scorecards and was announced as the winner.

Kovalev threw more punches, landed more, did more damage, knocked Ward down and yet he lost the fight? Oh yeah. 3 US Refs, US Judge, US Crowd, US Stadium all versus one Russian. Pretty clear whats going on.

Boxing suffers and loses a ton of fans and they wonder why the sport is becoming irrelevant.
