I love it, a come from behind victory for Andre Ward who stepped up in weight to beat the bigger man (Kovalev). If I were Ward, I would not give Sergey a rematch. I pray he doesn't, the reaction to this fight is shameless bull****, I had Ward winning the last 6 rounds. F*** Kovalev and all his fake fans. Andre Ward should go after Stevenson, Chavez Jr, or make Triple G come up in weight fight him.

This is a fight that deserves a rematch. Legitimately. Close fight. 2 great fighters. But you have to take it away from the champ. And i dont know if ward "took" it away. Tough call.

Watch Ward's face when the decision was announced. Even he was surprised. Weird decision but not Ward's fault. He won the judges over.

No way Golovkin would fight Ward now. Ward gets knocked down by guy who probably weighed 185 or 190 when he entered the ring, gets up, smiles and kick's Kovalev's ass. Imagine what he would do to Golovkin with all of Golovkin's power.

Good fight between two solid champions at their best. The fight was close, and the decision coulda went either way, but thanks to two top-tier fighters giving boxing fans what we want!

Ward needed to win 8 rounds to win the fight. There is no way he won 8 rounds or even 7.
He didn't do enough to beat the Champion. Even the punch stats favor Kovalev. The pro-Ward crowd was silent for most of the fight. I mean....

Watching the fight over again now is pointless as you will be looking to reasons to give it to Ward, which effectively means you are doing it in a bias way.

Kovalev was the defending champ as well, so none of the commentators bothered mentioning that the challenger has to go and get it from the Champ.

Kovalev should NOT rematch Ward, zero point, he beat him fair and square and even dropped him. Any rematch would mean he would have to KO Ward and or really batter him because Ward has the full public mindset on his side now.

So basically, each judge had Ward winning every round except one after the 4th. That's not the fight I saw. Ward clearly won the secondhalf of the fight. But I thought Kovalev did enough to get the edge in some of the close rounds. Kovalev may have been hurt by wimning his clear rounds as big as he did. Judges sometimes subconsciously penalize the guy that's had the bigger rounds in the close rounds.

Hilarious decision. I think HBO wants a new Floyd Mayweather. They know if they give Ward a robbery, fans will resent him for it, and pay to see him lose. Transparent. Ward barely won a single round clean. Lots of holding, short body shots, and a few nice clean jabs, but Kovalev was hitting him with bigger jabs, and actual clean headshots right and left from the outside.

It wasn't close. You could score it anywhere from 11-1 Kovalev if you gave him every close round, to 9-3 or 8-4 Kovalev at worst.

ward is the new tbe.....hbo's agenda has nothing to do with it.
