Sergey Kovalev vs. Andre Ward - Official PPV Discussion

I think it's an easy get out to say "it could have gone either way" - It being 114-113 allows people to justify a bad decision.....but when you look at the reality of the situation, there's no way you can give Andre Ward enough rounds if you are honest.
I think Ward was good tonight, he showed heart and determination but he didn't win enough rounds to win that fight.Comment

Yes, actual landed punches. Its not so easy to see in real time. Ive slowed down many a fight and came back with totally different decisions. Like Casamayor/Santa Cruz. Also who's doing what they want to do, Kov was early no doubt, but Ward controlled most of the fight. People seem to think backing up equates to losing, no way. Ward cut down Kov's punch output, had him questioning when and whether to punch, the feints are always effective. He didnt feint enough in my book though. Pretty much none existent right hand also, I wonder if something is wrong with his shoulder, although he has had fights where he didnt throw the right much.Comment

Like I said in another post hooker looked so bad they're physically endangering by bribing the judges. What happens when he "Steps up"?Comment

Andre Ward had other ideas, he lead with his jab and beat Kovalev to the punch numerous times which slightly nullified Kov. He made Kovalev miss and scored multiple body shots. Go watch it again. It's more than just 1 round to Ward.Comment

I had a lot going on tonight and had to step out and miss some rounds, but holy **** what a fight! THAT is what a fight between two real CHAMPIONS looks like. A throwback to the t, man. The look in their eyes from halfway on, DAMN those fools were fighting as if their lives depended on victory.
Both guys' stock went up tonight, both guys won. Kovalev, Ward, Boxing in general. Like I said, I missed some rounds and wasnt keeping score; hate to see either of them lose, but thats the way it goes. CANT WAIT for the rematch! Mad respect to both CHAMPIONS.Comment
