There are always excuses, Andre. No matter how you might win tonight, there will be excuses. Win a dominating 12 round shutout? You were boring. Knock him out in the first minute? You're on PEDs. Anything in between? You cheated with clinching and headbutts, even if you did neither.

The sane among boxing fans will give whoever wins the credit they deserve. The insane aren't worth paying attention to.

I hope we get no excuses in this fight. Neither guy can have any really. Kovalev is an active fighter and Ward has been active again. Ward has had 2 tune ups, if he loses and people blame his lack of good opposition then that's not a good excuse. They knew this fight was in the pipeline. The fights they took were to tune up for it, i think two tune ups is adequate. I don't even want to hear Ward is really a SMW if he loses, he's not. He could make 168 in his 20's, now he can't. Both are similar age, similar records, similar size.

Simply, the better fighter will win.
