ward wouldnt be able to make that weight either. the only time the fight was ever realistic was in 2013 when ward said no.

I think he can step up by first taking the Danny Jacobs fight...Danny is the only real credible threat to ggg at 160...and that's because of his KO power in both hands and is a true middleweight...he does a have a glass chin doe...so he could very well be swimming on the canvas if the two meet but at least it will be a real first legit middleweight champ...no lemule is not legit...he can then move up to 168 and take on Degale, Jack and Ramirez...all of those guys are champions and are fights that could put him into the hall of fame...if he really wants to cement his legacy...then he still needs to address that Andre Ward problem...because it hasn't been forgotten that ggg blatantly ducked Ward and barely speaks his name...if he does those things even win or lose versus Dre...at least he stepped up...breaking a welterweights eye socket is extremely far from "stepping up"...so let's have it...what is your blueprint for ggg to "step up" in 2017 and officially become official...
You answer your own question in your first sentence.

It isn't about Golovkin the Great stepping up. It's about the contenders in the division growing a pair and stepping up to to life and death with him.

the ball is in the court of the two guys at his weight who seem to be ducking him.

It's about compromise...something golovkin seems to be unwilling to do...let alone step up...

We don't know that either way because we aren't part of the negotiations. Taking assumptions as fat is irresponsible.

What a fighter may want to do, and what the team surrounding him/promoters are willing two do, can be two different things easily.

If ggg can call out and stalk canelo...he could have called out and stalked Ward...just like hes stalking a retired Froch...willing to fight a retired guy at 172 which is 3 pounds away from Andre Ward...smh... Talk about a ducker and not stepping up...is kell "welterweight" brook really ggg's best win???...

When fighters dont like their promotional situation they do like in the ring and fight to get out of their contracts...something Andre Ward did by the way...ggg is happy with easy paydays against overmatched opponents...thats why he says nothing...
