Virg has an eye others don't. I remember he scored the Kessler Froch rematch a draw which I also felt would have been the correct decision, it takes a keen eye and Virg has that. He sees things you can't coach, and he coaches things no other can.

I'm a big fan of Hunter, but I remember between rounds in Ward's last fight where Virgil was giving Andre specific instructions, and Ward was acting like he didn't need to listen a'la Mayweather or Broner. I remember thinking this could really be a big factor in a tough fight against a real opponent. We shall see tomorrow night.

Barrera was nothing more than a Wade level of opponent but Ward still couldn't get him out of there he needed a points decision to get it but even after it Ward was still marked up so that excellent defense clearly wasn't as good as Ward and his fans think.

It wasn't a tune up, Barrera was a legit contender until he lost. I remember the masses accusing Ward of being afraid when the negotiations were tough and Barrera was roasting him on twitter.

I feel like for the most part, a lot of trainers have "their" fighter that they do well with, the other fighters they coach often don't see the same success.

Khan didn't do well with Roach either.
