Well, in the entertainment business like pro boxing is, having a large fanbase definitely helps to maximise one's income. This isn't amateur boxing where it doesn't matter. Degale ought to have put more effort into being just a little bit likeable, IMO, knowing that it's going to pay dividends for him in the long run.

Bottom line is this, people can score fights differently. I don't have to agree with you but your initial response I found a little rude to be honest.
