How sooner should he have fought world class opponents? He was what, 20-21 when he ridiculed an universally recognized world class champion in Gennaro Hernandez (RIP), and then it was world ckass after world class fighter. Do you guys even bother to google fighters before posting nonsense?

Ok then if you want to go by common sense why aren't there dozens if not hundreds of former boxers walking around with parkinsons? There are many boxers who took a lot more punishment walking around without any sort of parkinsons. Matter of fact i can only think of 1 living former boxer with parkinsons and that is freddy roach. There are probably a few more but if your theory were true there would be hundreds.Comment

Floyd is right, he made it through a brutal sport and got the W vs boxing. Made enough money, invested well. Eventually consistent blows to the head is gonna affect your brain, as we've seen boxers, and now alot of football players are experiencing.Comment

Parkinson's isn't caused by destroyed brain cells.
Nobody doubts there is pugilistic dementia from taking too many punches, but that isn't parkinson's.Comment

Take a look at a science called Epigenetics , which is basically the study of what triggers the expression of traits laying dormant until they are triggered by environmental factors , like diseases that are in lots of people but never express for whatever reason , for all that mankind does know there is a sht load more that we dont know .Ok then if you want to go by common sense why aren't there dozens if not hundreds of former boxers walking around with parkinsons? Ali might have been born with Parkinsons , it may also have been sitting dormant waiting for its invitation and got it on a cellular level at punch 765 , I dont think science could prove or disprove that .
Look I dont know I just think getting punched 1000s of times in the head has its side effects in many forms .Comment

No, you sound ****** for regurgitating something that directly defies basic logic and were likely paid for by Bob Arum and the NFL.

Massive new study turns up surprises on the long-term fallout of unconsciousness-causing brain injuries that occur early in life
http://www.newsweek.com/hitting-your...kinsons-479677Originally posted by Scientific AmericanA large-scale analysis of three separate studies published this week in JAMA Neurology found no association between unconsciousness-causing traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and Alzheimer’s disease or general dementia—but it did find a strong association between TBI and Parkinson’s disease.
Originally posted by NewsweekIn a paper decades and many autopsies in the making, researchers concluded that suffering a head injury that results in loss of consciousness—even if it occurs only once—may significantly elevate one's risk of Parkinson’s disease.

Paul Crane, the lead author on the paper and a professor in the department of medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine, along with his fellow researchers, looked at the “garden variety, most typical” type of head trauma, known as traumatic brain injury with loss of consciousness. An injury of this type could happen to anyone who suffers a blow to the head. The researchers found the common injury may elevate a person’s risk for Parkinson’s disease later in life, including cases where it happens only once.
The risk is there if you're paying attention. That's what Floyd is talking about and why he chose to be a defensive-first fighter.Comment
