Patterson is an example as to why Tyson would of stayed on track if Cus were alive:

Think about it, Tyson, despite still getting into trouble when Cus was alive was said to be cleaning up his act as he aged...making progress was boosting his confidence...of course this was coming to a crashing end when Cus died, and totally ran off track when Jimmy Jacobs died...but if you look at Floyd Patterson as an example of what could of happened if Cus were alive, what Tyson would have been.

Patterson was said to be just like a Tyson when he was younger: a thug with no direction, until he stepped into the gym, having Cus train him to the Championship {have to fact check that or get corrected if I am wrong, but something like that}.

Cus helped to make Floyd from a thug to a "Gentleman" that everybody loved, just like the young Tyson that was adored.

Makes you wonder what Tyson could have done...I remember hearing Teddy Atlas go off on a rant, discussing his disappointment with Tyson...Tyson was supposed to be the Champion of his generation that would have been able to reach the youth, reach that kid on the street that was thinking about being a thug...not many Champions are able to capture and get the attention across the world...when you have such powers, you can make an impact...I know it kind of sounds like I am making an athlete bigger than they are, but you have to look at it by a view point based on Nature: we tend to be attracted and listen to the "Alpha-male" of the group, in this case "The toughest/badass man on the planet", "The Champ."

I tend to think that is the one of the main points of hate towards Tyson, he threw away what we thought were great talent(s), potential to be great...of course we have to look at the whole picture and understand why he failed.

I highly doubt tyson would have turned out the way he did if Cus hadn't of died. Everyone that I've seen that was trained under Cus or trained with Cus has a high sense of moral standards

I just heard Tyson on CNN talking about the death and some memories even thought the news caster wasn't sure exactly what to ask, but she did ask him if he is coming back, and he said no.

Cus did have a huge affect on Tyson. It's tough to say if Tyson would have turned out better if he had always been there but you have to think he would have.R.I.P. Floyd Patterson, the first ever two time world heavyweight champion.

Tyson just like any other boxer needs good training, counsel, etc around him to be successful. Thats why PBF has a major advantage everytime he steps in the ring. the team he has assembled truly values his life and career. he has an uppper hand every time he steps in the ring.

I mean't Fox News sorry, he said he isn't coming back to fight, and the reporter wasn't sure what to ask Tyson, he sounded like he was really upset and possibly crying.

That just clears up the rumors that he is coming back later this year, he's not said it himself that he's not interested in fighting anymore.

I doubt it would have made a difference. Although Cus taught Tyson to be a masterful boxer, he never taught Tyson how to function in society as a normal person. Cus didn't prevent Tyson from assaulting Teddy Atlas' niece or cousin (can't remember which one). And cus didn't discipline Tyson when he did it. It would have been a matter of time before he showed his other side and wound up in trouble again. Cus was great for Tyson inside the ring but outside the ring Tyson still lacked the social skills.
