That would be the Diego Corrales version of Floyd vs the James Tony version of Roy Jones.

There is no way any sane person would try to call that. The fact that you can pick a winner with such certainty only shows how much of your sanity you've lost

Really? Tony was a level or two higher than Corrales at his best, and I don't event think that was Corrales' best that fight, too much going on before the fight.

That version of Corrales had a similar KO ratio to Wilder and GGG at the moment, and had won fights that were predicted to be tough battle with ridiculous ease. He had huge height, weight, and reach advantage on Floyd too.

Toney only had weight advantage on Roy. Yes perhaps Toney was overall the more technically gifted fighter, but he didn't have the other advantages that Corrales had on Floyd, and Corrales was in sensational form at the time.

So yes, I think it is a very valid comparison. That performance by Floyd was his best without a shadow of doubt, and Corrales was never the same afterwards. Even during the post match interview, when they asked Corrales what he would do next, he said he was so devastated and humiliated that he wasn't even sure he wanted to continue to box anymore. That is how much Mayweather dismantled the guy.

Roy vs Mayweather at their best, man, there's no calling that fight.

Also, there's no way of knowing what we would get. Take Manny vs Floyd for example. It became 'boring' because both of them were too fast and athletic, so they ended up missing each other the whole night.

With Floyd and Roy's athleticism and reaction time, it wouldn't be surprising if they ended up missing each other the whole night. Their defensive stats were ridiculous in their primes and they were both too elusive.
