Comments Thread For: George Groves Targets Fedor Chudinov For Vacant WBA Belt

George Groves (24-3, 18KOs) is eager to get his hands on the WBA's 'super' version of the super middleweight world title. Groves will first go head to head with Eduard Gutknecht on Friday night at Wembley Arena. The London fighter is the WBA 'International' champion and makes the second defend of that title.

Ha, that's the way to do it. In this era of only decent/average SMWs (besides DeGale and Jack), now's the time for Groves to finally snatch an easy belt on his 4th attempt.

Smart work by Groves and his team. They've had a good plan since the loss to Jack. He will beat Gutknecht and he would probably beat either Chudinov or Zeuge.

This is Groves' last and best chance to win a belt. If he can't get it here, then it's time to call it a career.

Really happy for Groves, he has rebuilt himself beautifully this year and all credit to him for the Murray win. He should be able to get the title shot early next year and the WBA route is the best way for him to go right now, he is still very young and lucky to have been managed so well.

Enough with this "earning a world title a legitimate way" nonsense.

How many title shots is this guy going to get?

I suppose if it leads to an immediate unification with degale that would be ok but if he defends it against Latvians I'm gonna spew
