  • Why can't the UFC and boxing co-exist

According to some apparent boxing fans UFC is now bigger than boxing thanks to conor McGregor
    Well I think not
Boxing has been around since FOREVER
    It will never die
I'm happy the UFC is successful but it needs a reality check
Boxing is and always will be the sport of kings

It's mostly in they minds of the fans, who think of everything in simple terms.
Combat sports are fringe and the more main****** popularity any of them get, the more they all benefit.

Got no problems with MMA/UFC or Boxing.
Its just the close minded floydiots and ignorant UFC fans that hate each other.

They can. They cross promote all the time. Mayweather chats about Mgreggor and Rousey for attention. Dana Whyte talks about Mayweather and GGG. Rousey talked about Mayweather/GGG. Fury talks about Mcgregor. This isnt an accident. They know that chatting about other big names, whether its UFC or boxing, gets hits and article clicks.

People talk about UFC stealing boxing fans when really boxing is losing them all by itself.

Go over to Sherdog forums and most of the guys there love boxing, it gets plenty of attention. There are a few haters but mostly because boxing can put on really dreadful mismatches and poor cards but for the most part there is a big respect and love for boxing. It's on here that UFC gets a bad rep by some. They can coexist but boxing needs to change. Cards are getting worse, big fights are fewer and further between.

I was talking with a mate and how boxing even in 2008 was incredible. Spoilt for choice, think about it we had Vazquez - Marquez 3, Pacquiao - Marquez 2, Diaz - Katsidis, Casamayor - Katsidis, Holt - Torres 2, Adamek - Cunningham, Pacquiao - David Diaz, Froch - Pascal, Calzaghe - Jones Jr, Segura - Canchila, Pacquiao - De La Hoya, Bute - Andrade, Abraham - Miranda, Nate Campbell - Diaz, Haye - Maccarinelli, Williams - Phillips, Hatton - Malinaggi, Darchiniyan - Mijares, Donaire - Mthalane, Bradley - Witter, Calzaghe - Hopkins, Dawson - Johnson, Margarito - Cintron, Pavlik - Taylor 2, Adamek - Bell, Quintana - Williams (1&2), Caballero - Moliter, Cotto - Margarito.

Boxing promoters, networks, cherry picking and politics have absolutely destroyed the growth of boxing.

Ummm this is comparing UFC to boxing in the UK...

It's very apparent the UFC is not as popular in the UK as boxing is. And most people are comparing the PRESENT not the past. Where both sports stand as of right now.
