    Fighters Still Fear Oscar?

or are they just fearing there career going down the drain? 1st Vargas and now Mayorga? Did they do it more because they fear Oscar or more because they both were at crossroads in there career and would do anything to win that fight?

Mayorga is a idiot. He already saw Vargas use it and get KO'd against Oscar and everyone was saying after that fight that the steroids actually seem to hurt Vargas and take alot out of him. Then Mayorga tries the same thing and he gets killed.

Does anyone here think that the steroids may actually have hurt Mayorga? I dont think that anyone thought Oscar would just kill Mayorga like that. I mean, he is known to have a solid chin.

I hope Floyd doesnt use them if he fights Oscar

Mayorga didnt take STEROIDS YOU ****ING IDIOT. Even if he did take a DIURETIC, which is uncertain, that would not help performance, rather detract massively. As that makes you lose weight REALLY fast. Now pls stfu .

i think the fact that oscar worked the body in the first round more than tito did the whole fight is the reason oscar was able to put him down.

the steroids (is thats what it was) thing is now going to be used againts oscar, people are always looking for ways to take credit from oscar, im sure many people will say that its the drugs that made mayorga look bad.

If he did take a Diuretic, it could explain his lack luster performance. Though, I feel he didn't train because Mayorga didn't even hold up his right arm to defend himself, a diuretic wouldnt take away skill.

Officials: Mayorga tests positive for diuretic after fight
            Associated Press

LAS VEGAS -- Former WBC super welterweight champion Ricardo Mayorga tested positive for a banned substance after losing his title Saturday to Oscar De La Hoya, officials said.

Mayorga could be fined by the Nevada Athletic Commission after traces of the diuretic Furosemide, also known as Lasix, were found in his system, commission lawyer Keith Kizer said Thursday.

Kizer said boxing regulators notified Mayorga of the violation Wednesday. The Nicaraguan boxer has 20 days to respond before the commission decides whether to hold a hearing on the matter.

Mayorga's Miami-based lawyer, Tony Gonzalez, did not immediately respond to a call seeking comment.

Another Nicaraguan boxer, Rosendo Alvarez, tested positive for the same substance last month. The Nevada Athletic Commisison suspended Alvarez's license until the end of the year and he was fined $2,000.

"We're thinking there must be a trainer or physician in Nicaragua that is recommending this for boxers," said Alan Hopper, a spokesman for Don King Promotions, which represents Mayorga.

Diuretics are taken to lose weight quickly or to mask steriod use, Kizer said. Mayorga weighed in for the Saturday fight at 153½ pounds, or 4½ pounds lighter than his fighting weight in October 2002 against Felix Trinidad.

Mark Taffet, senior vice president of HBO Sports, said Wednesday that De La Hoya's technical knockout victory at the MGM Grand Arena sold 875,000 subscriptions and generated $43.8 million in pay-per-view revenue.

Mayorga earned a guarantee of $2 million and a share of each pay-per-view sale above 600,000.

yea if he didnt train then taking Diuretic would just allowed him to make weight, but stressed his body. do you know exactly how that **** works? does it flush all your pipes or what?

Makes you piss massively, i think there is a strong chance of dehydration. If you look at the weigh in immediately after, Mayorga was chugging electrolyes.
