''I Will Broke His Hands..arms..if he dares something dirty..'' - Kovalev

I remember that quote. I like Kovalev but that was a goofy statement. Kovalev has no inside game and he's not developing one in a single training camp.
I'm sure JDJ is showing him techniques he thinks will prevent Ward from being able to grapple but I think his best way of dealing with it will be to either retreat from any clinch, or hold on tight so the ref will break them up. Guys try to fight back against Ward on the inside and they all lose that game. Even the ones who actually know how to dirty box.Comment

...
You cannot hit below the belt, hold, trip, kick, headbutt, wrestle, bite, spit on, or push your opponent.
...
But somehow we gotta accept holding as a valid tactic? until when?Comment

Ward opponents say he's stronger than they anticipated, so Kovalev better be careful with what he tries to counter holding with. Shoving back someone who's holding you is fine, holding isn't a dangerous enough move to counter with breaking someone's hands or arms. If he tries to wrestle with Ward to break his arms, he can find himself with points deducted in a fight that is already 50-50 and will probably be closeComment

I agree, Ward will definitley try to make it an inside fight for a long duration of the fight because it's hard to outbox Kovalev, who fights best on the outside or midrange. Ward will look to take that away from him by being too close like 70% of the time or too far like 20% of the time and the rest midrange. Kovalev has to make the inside fighting a painful experience for Ward everytime Ward tries to make it a rough inside fight to force Ward to fight on the outside, that's actually his best chance because if he lets this become an inside fight he'll have a long night in there.I remember that quote. I expect the fight to be a rough ugly one, but I'm still looking forward to seeing it and I especially wanna see who's gonna keep their composure and manage to somehow land the more telling punches. I don't see this fight ending in a KO.Comment
