WBA/IBF/IBO/WBC middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs) has a lot of options out there, according to his promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions. Loeffler is working out the details with Jacobs' adviser, Al Haymon, for a fight in early 2017. The World Boxing Association ordered Golovkin and Jacobs to face each other. Jacobs is the WBA's 'regular' champion in the middleweight division.

If Golovkin overcomes Jacobs, Loeffler will examine a lot of options that are out there - including Canelo, a catch-weight bout with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., the winner of the super middleweight unification between James DeGale and Badou Jack, and a bout with WBO 168-pound champion Gilberto Ramirez.

I wonder what the CW would be with JCC Jr and why would they use a CW for him and not for DeGale/Jack winner when they all fight 168? But anyway those are all good fights. Glad he's not talking about Heiland, Johnson and another random bum next year.

I don't understand this situation. Why hasn't the WBA called the purse bid? Did they just say forget it and give up? Send it to bid and if Jacobs vacates then oh well, his career is dead. Move on. Chavez Jr would still be a PPV fight so money shouldn't be an issue. WTF is Loeffler doing?
