one for in the ring and another one on the outside making sure all the calls are correct? wouldn't that stop alot of controversy about knockdowns and all that...things like pacman being down in round 1 vs barrera..shouldnt have been a kd........and mayorga vs spinks mayorga had sppinks down one time towards the end

Why don't they also give timeouts and challenges to the trainer what he can only use before the two minute mark of each round?

Well read the post and maybe you'll get it right. He said one on the outside. Tried to make a joke out of something and joke ended up being on you...

Doesn't boxing have too many people able to make bad judgements. Do we really need another person? And who would have superiority of the call? I think it is a valiant attempt to try and make it more even but would end up causing more conflict. But worst of all it would make the fight stop as they conferred.

I guess I'm the only one here that's open to that idea, technically there already is a second " outside ref" in boxing I think it's the guy that keeps track of time and the count in case of a knockdown, now remember when Tyson got ko'd by Douglas and Don King filed a complaint making a case that Douglas should've already been ruled knocked out when he received the uppercut from Tyson, because the timekeeper had the accurate count and that the ref had a very long 9 count which in actuality was about 17 seconds. So my point is it won't work for the simple fact that boxing is full of unscrupulous people it wouldn't make a difference if you had 2 or 20 refs in and outside the ring, chances are all 20 could be bought.

I think you should be able to challenge a knockdown, slip or a low blow that causes a point deduction.

Only once the whole fight though and the challenge would need to be made in between rounds.

The video editing people would easily be able to have that on hand for the timekeeper to and the ref to watch in less than a minute and make the appropriate change if required.

if the 1 minute comes up and the two cant make up their mind the decision stands and the fighters continue fighting on schedule without disrupting the round and in between times.
