    Vargas was....well the perfect foil.

No chance in hell to win. Took punishment beyond the point of duty. Could have , should have been saved from himself sooner.

Only difference between him and Salka is that he has a much better threshold for taking punishment.

Hope he got paid enough for playing the role of a human punching bag for the public's pleasure.

Thurman goes against Porter and we get this for Danny!!!

Even a John Molina or a David Diaz would have been more acceptable than this.

Danny is young , talented , a champ not yet in his prime and yet they are not confident enough to test him against stern opposition??

Even for a tune up this is horrible!!!

Hope we do not have to endure another Salka like tune up before his date with Thurman!!

This reminds me when Brook said that triple G doesn't hit that hard.

The only thing took from this fight is that Danny was working on the right hand. As much as Vargas was protecting against the left hook he left himself open to the right hand which was on Target.

I gave Danny credit though. The man can handle pressure. He had his future opponent ringside, fighting in front of his hometown, and i cant tell me that if he loss, it would have been at least a 3mil dollor loss....

Translation: he couldn't knock me out with one shot, so I'm still a very tough guy

Vargas is correct. He was hit by a truck once in Colombia.

Vargas really needs to lay low for a while and let his face heal. Now is not the time to be saying things like this.

If the fight with Thurman is already signed, why fight someone with a chance of winning? Why fight Diaz, or Molina for no reason. Nothing good could come out of that, but it would be Diaz, and or Molina biggest chance in the world.

He fought the right opponent for the cause. Someone he didn't fear, presented no risk, and can work on some things in the ring.

Like the right hook. Vargas was guarding the left hook all night, but keep getting clipped with the right. (Something Danny been working on) and something that Keith gotta look out for. There was no need to Jab, go to the body or nothing like that cause he didn't fear his opponent.

I think this fight served it's purpose

Ok got it. A glorified sparring session under the bright lights.
Thanks for clearing that up !!!

Now I understand why Canelo would fight Kahn and GGG would fight Kell. Outcome predictable and they all served that purpose.

Makes me wonder why fans would even complain about mismatches masquerading as professional boxing.

Once again thanks for clearing that up.
