Vargas is a punching bag. No D no movement how does this improve Danny for Thurman. How does a shot Guerrero improve him after Thurman already beat him up. Salka? Pauline?
Where are the fights to get him ready for a big strong welter

Garcia is a dedicated body attacker and has good timing.

Thurman has good power with good skills, plus he can move well.

Whoever imposes his style in this fight will win. Both guys can adjust during the fight making it a good match up

Kind of odd that Thurman and Gacria never boxed each other in the amateurs??? Weren't they both going out for the same team??? They both were US National champions???

Funny that Andrade beat Thurman and Porter beat Andrade and Thurman beat Porter...

Keith was a welter in the ams (152) and Danny was a light-welter (141). Thurman also beat Andrade the first time they fought, Andrade won the next 3 times.

Shawn was probably the best amateur out of all these guys at welter, he fought at 165 and he's got wins over Usyk, Andrade, Jacobs, Estrada etc.

Thanks! That makes sense? Thurman has always looked bigger than most... He looks like he could make Super WW pretty easy. Same for Spence and Brook. In a few years that division should be at the top. It's already pretty close with Andrade, Charlo Bros., J-Rock, Cotto, Trout, Canelo (If he picks a class).

Could you imagine having Thurman, Brook, Spence, Porter, and maybe Garcia (He actually looked big last night) to that list???

You gotta love how boxers never show vulnerability . You can't keep giving "no's" to a boxer, after he already dropped you ! You've already shown that you're feeling his punches! Garcia hit Vargas so hard, he did a somersault! Vargas is still giving him a "no", like he's still invulnerable!

Scott broke an unwritten rule: never get knocked down, or out, on the next punch, after you taunted him with a "no" or a tongue wag !! Scott wags his tongue at Ortiz, like you can't hit me! Ortiz floors him on a body shot the next punch, lmfao!

Thurman's ability to adjust to his opponent is going to make him very difficult for Garcia to beat...when Thurman first came on the scene, he took the "One Time" gimmick to heart. He was blasting his opponents out of there.

As he upgraded the opposition, he began to run into more rugged inside brawlers like Soto Karass and Chaves, that required more than one time . Karass even buzzed him. That's when Thurman added the movement game. The "Run Time" nickname started circulating among his potential opponents .

That's been he is strategy ever since. If the opponent is weak inside, Thurman will stay in the pocket and ****. If the guy is too tough in there, Thurman changes to movement.

Thurman will take the first one or two rounds to guage Garcia's welterweight power. If Thurman decides that movement is needed, it could be a long night for Garcia. Just look at the Peterson fight!

Peterson basically ran from Garcia for the first half of the fight. Garcia was unable to cut off the ring and catch him. By the time Peterson decided to fight, Garcia was worn down and frustrated from all the chasing. This allowed Peterson to dominate the final 5 rounds. Unfortunately the judges viewed the first 7 rounds as cowardice on Peterson's fault, and he lost .

But I bet that Thurman's team is looking at that fight in particular. Garcia may not only be looking at the first L of his career, but the first KO.

Idk if Shawn was the best. Garcia won the national champion for the under-19 and then won the regular one as well.
