Seriously, this fight isn't big enough to be this complicated to make.

This is an absolute joke. There's no way a fight like this should be taking this long to make. It's not even that big of a fight. Yet, it's approaching 2 months since they started negotiating. May-Pac got finished in 3 weeks. This is hardly a PPV fight.

i like canelo more than ggg but i thought it was a beezy move to collect the lineal middleweight title, call the man out and than retreat back down to 154...i would be rooting for canelo and think he has enough talent and physical ability to compete with ggg but i would expect golovkins hand to be raised after the final bell...hopefully they figure something out and get the fight done this year...

by the way,im of the opinion ggg should take the flat $10 mil if thats really what was offered to him...its more than he has ever made or can make with anybody else in the sport and should he win than he may very well becomes boxings "face" and topside from the business end of things from that point forward
I think that offer made they knew it would be rejected and but them another year before making another ludicrous offer. Again I really don't blame Oscar or Saul for delaying, avoiding or even refusing this fight. Canelo is hugely marketable, why put all the work you've put in establishing him a ppv monster when a guy like GGG would literally swan in destroy him and assume his mantle as the 'face' I believe you put it . Oscar and Canelo are not GGG's representatives or promoters and as far as I am concerned they'd be promoting GGG to be the 'face' if they elected to face him. If they are to face him they need to limit the damage their stock would take ie a catchweight to offset the beating Canelo would take at the hands of GGG, better still wait until he's shown signs of decline and then a CW.

I'm not even a Canelo supporter I just look at this from merely a business stand point and the point in which everyone at GBP will be viewing this just to form some clarity regarding why this isn't actually happening, Kellerman and HBO if they keep pushing are going to push Canelo right into the hands of Showtime.

How did they waste time? He was going to have to fight Wade regardless. So the Wade fight would've happened in March instead of April? How did they waste time with Eubank Jr? He wasn't fighting Saunders, who else were they going to fight, Heiland? Fighting 3-4 bums a year isn't a good thing. There is nobody at MW except Jacobs, Saunders, & Canelo. I'd rather see him fight those three over a two year period than 3 bums a year

At this point, I honestly don't ever expect to see another decent fight happen ever again.

It was a dry year, and it looks like its going to keep getting worse.

True, but that is the way it is when dealing with Haymon.

Charlo-Williams, both Haymon guys who aren't draws and fight on the same networks under the same PBC banner, took almost a year to make and almost went to a damn purse bid. That is a fight that should have been even easier to make.
