Comments Thread For: Lara Eyes Three Fights in 2017: Nobody is at My Level at 154

WBA/IBO junior welterweight champion Erislandy Lara (23-2-2, 13KOs) is looking to fight at least three times in 2017. Lara has seen action once this year, when he won a twelve round decision over Vanes Martirosyan in their May rematch in Las Vegas.

They're starting to feel the pinch of inactivity. How can this guy have the nerve to fight 4 nobodies in a row?

Three fights for Lara? Let me guess: Luis Collazo, Daniel Dawson, and a mega fight with Andre Berto.

Rough year for Lara in 2016. My guess he gets a tune up fight. Maybe unify with the winner of Charlo vs J-Roc then move up weight after.

Why is Lara staying at 154? There's not a lot for him to do really. Canelo and Cotto aren't going to fight him. One of the Charlo brothers or Andrade would be alright I guess. If he wants Golovkin so bad though he should go up to 160 and either pick up some hype or become the mandatory for one of GGGs belts.

              Just my two cents

Not likely, he and Charlo have the same coach. Unless Williams wins.

There's no way Haymon can satisfy all those fighters with activity plus the paychecks he's been handing out. These fighters want to make as much money as they possibly can. Fighting once a year is not going to get it! wouldn't be surprise in the next 2-3 years, a few Haymon fighters move on to other promoters.

Yea, nobody! You know, except for Canelo and Paul Williams. But other than that, nobody!
