Comments Thread For: Diego Chaves To Return To Action on November 18, Argentina

Diego Chaves (24-2-1, 20 KOs), who has fought only once since his December 2014 draw with Timothy Bradley will be back in the ring on November 18 in his native Argentina. Chaves fought in July in a non-televised bout, also in Argentina, claiming a technical knockout victory over Jorge Daniel Miranda. This time he takes on Luis Pablo Zarate (21-3, 12 KOs) in Quilmes, Buenos Aires.

Good to see Chaves back to being active, he can still be a very solid contender at 147

chavez couldn't recover from the left hook to the liver, it was a great punch by thurman. i don't remember much of him landing when chavez went down again in the following round.

Thurman went into full assault the following round, making Chaves back up onto the ropes, Thurman beat Chaves with a mean right hook to the forehead. The blow was too much for Chaves, mouth open dazed on the canvas. Good scrap imo.

i have to see that again, because i don't remember very well. thurman imo pretty much ended the fight with that left hook. chavez performed a lot better that i expected. usually promoters like his send fighters like chavez to the slaughter house every time they take them out to USA (especially knowing that thurman was a highly touted prospect at the time)
