Damn, thats ****ed up. Floyd Patterson is one of the greatest technicians in heavyweight history. His hand speed is only eclipsed by Muhammad Ali. His trilogy with Ingemar Johanssen and becoming the heavyweight champ at 21 will leave a legacy that will never be erased. In his later years, he was an asset to the New York State Athletic Commission and helped to ensure that their commission was run competently. Rest in peace Floyd Patterson.

This is very sad news. Floyd was one of the kindest men in the history of the sport and did all he could for local inner city children who struggled, as he once did, by training them and giving them an opportunity in boxing.

RIP Floyd Patterson, your name belongs up there with all the greats and all of those who bled to make boxing the greatest of all sports. On your best nights, with your combination of superhuman handspeed and explosive power, you were a threat to any man who ever lived.

Ali said he was the most skilled opponet he ever faced. He always seemed to carry himself with a lot of class, which is a lot more than many of his counterparts can say. RIP champ.
