Thankyou, my Russian is pretty much non existent aside from drinking salutations and a little bit of pillow talk and military terminology, but I'm pretty good at deciphering the meaning of rough translations and that's pretty much what I took from it. In essence that he considered Sanchez as mainly a hobbyist and disliked the lack of variation and customisation in the training regime.

Great that it works for Jackson but most trainers especially the greats would throw him out of the gym if he disrespected them him being a nobody at that point. Why have a trainer if you know everything? You would be no wear without Abel and mostly Jackson telegraphed power only gets you so farComment

I think so. In fact he says as much in a russian language interview. That doesn't mean Abel isn't a good coach of course, but not all fighter / trainer relationships work, and Kovalev / Sanchez was clearly one which didn't.Thanks, kinda explains why Abel is such an spiteful, attention whore. On a side note, it seems like GGG might have a second career as a trainer after his fighting days are over. Every boxer that works with him seems to praise his ability and willingness to teach.Let me help you with translation...
As a trainer Abel Sanchez is very one-sided and wasn't giving me anything boxing-wise. Or it just seemed so to me because I worked mostly with GGG. I think he [Sanchez] understood very little about what he was doing. For example, he gave everyone the same workload. And it didn't matter when you had the fight - in two weeks or in two months - you did all the same things. And it didn't matter when you came to the camp which was at the height of 2100 meters.
Mon, Wed, Fri - fight days (sparrings or bag). Tue, Thu, Sat - conditioning. All training exercizes were the same every week. I think it's fundamentally wrong. You can't have the same approach to every fighter as Sanchez does.
When I came back from Russia, I finally concluded that Abel is a layman in boxing - without sports teacher education and even without fighter experience.Comment

Yeah there's a few pieces of footage where GGGs displaying technique and mentoring other guys in the gym and like you say other fighters always seem to have positive stuff to say about him. Definitely one of those guys more at home in the gym than in the public eye, though.Comment

Always have respected Jackson and Kovalev. They both have an excellent work ethic. Both don't mind working hard to get to the right level. And they do an excellent job of working together as a team. Can't ask for much more. Personally I think the two will figure out Ward well enough to beat him. Like Jackson said, Ward is good. He isn't perfect, and he is beatable.Comment
