    What if Andre mercs Kovalev?

Doubt it happens in all seriousness but it's boxing and it only takes 1 punch. So if Andre ko'd the Krusher does that instantly make him the best fighter since prime Manny?

Fans are so thirsty for decent fights, and have been starved for so long, that yeah - a Ward walkover probably makes him P4P best since prime Manny.

That's more of a reflection of there being two-tenths of **** all fights going on, so there's no real sample size.

To some maybe it would. I judge a boxer by all the fights they have in their prime. To me one spectacular KO of Kovalev wouldn't turn Ward into a big puncher. The 30 fights he had before then have shown his punching power to be average. If he backed up the Kovalev KO with more impressive KOs then I would be convinced that somehow he was able to increase his punching power dramatically. Barring that I would just have to assume he landed the perfect punch on Kovalev and he is still average punching Ward. I hope that makes sense.
