Comments Thread For: Sanchez is Firm on Golovkin Beating Kovalev, Ward, Stevenson

Abel Sanchez, trainer of WBA/IBF/IBO/WBC middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs), created a big reaction from the fans when he recently stated that his fighter was capable of beating Sergey Kovalev, Andre Ward and Adonis Stevenson - who are two weight divisions above Golovkin.

GGG is in his mid 30's, when is this supposed to take place, when he hits his 40's?

Like it did with Hopkins? Think GGG retires at 38.

Here goes Abel sticking his foot in his mouth once again.

I take this with a grain of salt. Kov/Ward/Stevenson are all LHW's. GGG is a MW. Even if GGG were to move up to SMW, those 3 guys cant make 168.

I wonder if Abel knows what a tool he sounds. Mind you '154 - 168' has kept folk talking for nearly 4 years without GGG having to give up a single pound, maybe Abel reckons he can squeeze a couple more years out of it by raising the bar to 175.
