If he beats Ward in dominant fashion, especially by knockout. Then, I could see him becoming a draw. If Kovalev is marketed correctly.

Knocking out a nobody doesn't make him a superstar. Knocking out Golovkin would though.

boxing superstar status yes. Mayweather pacquaio oscar has surpassed just boxiing superstar status, so kovalev wont be on their level no.

This. He might get to the pre Oscar superstardom that Floyd and Pacquiao had, but he won't be a big name outside of the sport. Still though, that is a very high level of popularity that few get to.

ODLH had stardom/cash cow status no one has in boxing right now lol.....you are right but it's not comparable at the same time because no one Kovalev can realistically fight and beat right now is bigger.

ODLH is the biggest superstar the sport has ever had only comparable to Tyson and Ali lol, Floyd and Manny were fortunate enough to have him as an eligible opponent at the time because it secured them superstar status. Floyd made the most of it because he was smart.

Manny, well, I don't even know how he is doing financially but everyone swore Arum was robbing him blind. Even then, Manny was borderline a cultural icon before the DLH fight. Both fighters make it to superstardom without him but it obviously helped a ton fighting him.

Yes he would become a superstar and probably become more hated on this board than GGG. Knocking out Ward is unforgivable to Ward fans.
