Man Manny is old now. He's much slower than he used to be. I don't blame Roach for not wanting to see the old lion beaten by a guy he would have ruined in his prime (if weights were the same etc.) Let Manny have a crack at the Thurman vs Garcia winner. More winnable fight based on styles.

Even when he was young.....he was falling-in....on one foot....with his hands down.

He's been KTFO as a young fighter and as an old one.

Also yes, Manny's legacy is signed sealed and delivered, but I think most see the writing on the wall. Manny is obviously on the backside of his career and Crawford, at least to me, is the truth and in his prime. That is a recipe for Manny taking a beating. People around Manny see this and the odds of them fighting are in essence zero. I would be floored if that fight gets made.

i think crawford would win but i dont see him beating manny up or anything. mannys still a real good fighter even past prime. Might be even better at 140. Just seems strange they are so against it, cause all i can see is that being a no lose situation, if he beats crawford his CV gets even stronger, if he loses its not a big deal

Annnnnnd with these statements, Roach proves team Pacquiao is full of shit. I thought he was injured against Mayweather?!?!? I thought he would knock him out in a rematch now that his injury is healed. Now it's Crawford vs a fully healthy Pac would likely play out just like Mayweather vs an INJURED Pac....???

100% pulled their own card on this one. You can't explain it any other way. If Pac was injured 1st Floyd fight and would do much better and win rematch than Roach should be saying that healthy Pac would beat Crawford and not be scared to accept the match. You gotta read between the lines.

I think Crawford beats both Manny (somewhat easily) and Mayweather (a bit more difficult), but it would be like the young son in perfect shape, in top form, beating the run-down dad who might be in great shape as well, but already over the hill.

My prediction would be Crawford wins by unanimous decision
9-3 or 10-2 vs. Manny
7-5 or 8-4 vs. Floyd

And if there were any knock-downs, either Manny or Floyd would hit the canvas but not Crawford.

YOUTH aside from skills and ring IQ would be the main difference in such fights. I'd like to see any of those, but Manny-Floyd again? Please nooo!

I woulda bet on Manny pre-Postol, but I was impressed with Crawford a lot in that W. Plus lets be real, while I still got questions about Crawford's chin what exactly is Manny who's not KO'd anyone in 7 years really going to do about that? I say not much.

And this all isn't to say that I'd happily throw a 10 grand on Crawford, but I'm much more split on this fight then I previously was & if push comes to shove on making a pick right now I'd go with Crawford.

Was impressed with his performance against Postol. But let's be clear, Postol is very good in the basics. That's why he can beat a guy that just brings a big punch, like Matthysse.

Having said that, NO basic fighter will beat Crawford. It takes something special to do it. Pacquiao is special in many ways. Footwork, stamina, angles. Crawford tends to trade a lot with fighters. What happends if he do that against Pacquiao?

TC is VERY smart. And I mean, VERY smart. It would be a great fight to watch. Perfect at 140.

Crawford Wrong For Manny

Been telling you guys this. Crawford is all wrong for Manny, so much so that Freddy has had no choice but to admit it several times. Every man has his time and place, Crawford is terrible for Manny right now.

Perhaps he does have the wrong style for Manny. Roach is the
same individual saying Pacquiao should fight Canelo. Canelo would
be a much more dangerous fight for Manny at this stage. I see Pacquiao fighting better at 140 than 147. If Manny mentioned no problem, the last thing he needs is negative vibes coming from Freddy Roach. Also Manny mentioned that the size difference between him and Canelo would be pushing the limit.
