Should the IBF strip Brook if he fights Pacquiao next?!

Should the IBF strip Brook if he fights Pacquiao next and finally give Errol Spence the oppurtunity that he's deserved and been waiting for for a while now?

Or should this be a unification fight and then Spence gets the winner for the 2 belts?

I think Brook should be stripped and Spence should fight the number 2 guy for the vacant belt, then he's gonna have a belt and will be a bit more attractive for other fighters to get in the ring with him, I think if he waits for Pacquiao and Brook to fight, the winner probably will stall again and he won't get the IBF title shot till 2018.

No they shouldn't strip him. But I can see the winner of that fight dropping the IBF to avoid the mandatory

So you approve of Spence basically getting screwed out of his oppurtunity again for god knows how long? this is not right man.

No I don't approve of it. I'm a big Spence fan but I don't want to break tradition of unifications trumping mandatories. The sport is bigger than one fighter, even if that fighter is my favorite fighter.

No, picking up a vacant title is a very underwhelming way to get a title.

Well in a perfect world Brook should first fight Spence and the winner should fight Pacquiao in a unification bout, but you already know Arum isnot going to let Spence get in there with Pacquiao even if he beats all the other welterweight. I think prospects getting their chance is just as important as unification bouts. Rankings not being respected and sanctioning bodies bnding their rules for money is one of the things that's totally wrong with boxing.

Winner of Pac-Brook would most likely face winner of Thurman-Garcia.

Spence in the meanwhile needs a top 10 guy to face. Broner is facing a nobody.... Porter would take the fight.

Then there's guys like Guerrero, Berto,...

              Spence should fight Porter.

Any unification fight should postpone any mandatory situation. In theory any fight vs a higher caliber guy than a mandatory should postpone that mandatory in my eyes, but I understand for the alphabet group that could be a arguably position based on who's rankings you deem as THE REAL rankings that includes everyone.

Thats all in theory doe I suspect the IBF will strip Brook if he doesn't fight Spence as they, unlike Canelo & Oscar, don't f#ck around.

I'd let him slide for the sake of landing as Pac fight. But I'd order the winner of that to defend the IBF Championship against Spence next or else be stripped.

As a Kell Brook fan, this is a tricky one. It's good to have a big unification fight for the sport of boxing to unify the paper titles. But at the same time, if we're going to respect these governing bodies they need to have some morals/principles which are adhered to. Errol Spence, Jr. is also ranked #3 by the WBO. I would like to see the Brook-Pacquiao fight, with the winner having to fight Spence next. If a duck move is pulled, why not have Errol Spence, Jr. vs. Timothy Bradley for the unified IBF/WBO title?
