Oscar Valdez is not ready man

He looks like a million bucks against these flat footed guys loading his punches and but when he faces the elite that stuff ain't gonna work as good.

All those body shots that he keeps loading up on, they'll be missing.

Earlier in his career he was too fast going one speed only and not hurting guys much. Now he loads up and is fighting in one speed again which is slower.

Can't Oscar Valdez with all his skills find a middle ground and not go either too fast all the time or too hard all the time?

At this point Loma stops him probably by the 8th round

I said this way before tonight and I said this in teh RBR before he fought, I hate his style, hes a wife puncher, nothing but wide hooks is his style and these bums are easy but once he faces someone who shoots down the middle hes done.

Hes fast and vicious but, pssh this is boxing how long will that last you need to know how to work everything, one style gets killed.

I agree he can't fight like that against the elite guys, unless he knocks them out of course. But I don't think this approach will be successful in the long run.

He loads up on every shot - and because of this he is open to get countered, and whilst his workrate was impressive, he was breathing with his mouth open by the 5th round, and I am not surprised.

He has a raw talent, definitely a great base to build from, but I agree if he wants to step up to the next level he needs to make some adjustments to his approach. I was actually disappointed that the fight ended because I wanted to see what he would look like in rounds 9,10, etc.

Key word here! I think he still would have looked good in the later rounds but that doesn't mean much against these types of fighters.

We'd not know if he will fight this way against elite competition. Let's be honest, he's in there vs half decent competition but he can pretty much do anything he wants vs this level of guy so he's selling out for knockouts I think and looks a bit wide and one speed right now. He has lots of skill, that's apparent. I'd love to see him in vs a few of the top guys soon.
