It has always been the case with big fights they never come off right away, in the past it used to be a year tops this would happen as opposed to a couple years or more which is more like the current standard.
I blame the internet~ because fans talk about these fights endlessly online whereas in the past heat dissipated much quicker because there was not a real forum to discuss fights endlessly. More people cared so it would get discussed a while among friends but friends are not going to talk about a fight endlessly that has a real shelf life.
Currently speaking there is no shelf life on a fight as far as I can tell, because on the internet you are not always discussing with friends but more likely adversaries when it comes to boxing. SO it becomes an endless argument which just feeds on itself.
It is what it is and patience is still a virtue~
