Can we all agree if either Jacobs or GGG vacates.....

I think Canelo showed less people than ever care about the belts with his recent title tossing situation. I was surprised with how little **** Canelo took vs my expectation of the **** he was going to take. So that being the case I'm sure some small segment of fans will give a **** about GGG or Jacobs if they vacate their belt, but its not going to move the needle against either guy very much I predict cuz who cares THAT much about these bs belts.Comment

Why are people saying Haymon is holding up the fight when Loeffler was the one who asked for an extension?!?!? The purse bid was supposed to be 2 weeks ago but Loeffler asked for an extension because he said he was finalizing the fight. He liedIf either side vacates, man, it's due to outside pressures. I believe both Jacobs and Golovkin are more than willing to fight each other and I like both guys. My personal take is that Haymon has held up this fight to steal a march on HBO and that Danny's a pawn in that game, just as GGG may become a pawn in HBOs game should Haymon win a purse bid.
I don't hold either guy responsible for a situation which is - in the present circumstance at least - largely beyond their control. The decisions each might make subsequently may change my mind however.Comment

It doesn't take a particularly twisty type of mind to understand how one party to a negotiation could delay matters by a variety of tactics, whilst displaying just enough interest to stop the other party from leaving the table.
Of course, I don't claim to know that's what happened for sure, but I think my narrative fits what we do know pretty well. Maybe I just have an overactive imagination though.
And I'm not claiming that Haymon is holding up the fight now - merely that he may have delayed enough to be sure that HBO wouldn't have a major fight on the 10th. As to any other intentions either side may have had, I'm sure that will become clear in due course.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 11-05-2016, 05:07 PM.Comment

I voted yes, no excuses ... but there kind of is one, because if GGG has a contract with HBO that they won't let him out of, what can he do? Regardless, hopefully they addressed that in his contract when they re-upped with HBO - if his network loses a purse bid, he should be able to fight elsewhere.Comment

Why do people think Haymon always has some sort of nefarious ulterior motive? When has that ever been the case?It doesn't take a particularly twisty type of mind to understand how one party to a negotiation could delay matters by a variety of tactics, whilst displaying just enough interest to stop the other party from leaving the table.
