Why Boxing Is Above Politically Correct Culture

A soccer team is being punished for referring to puzzy as puzzy.

You know damn well this wouldn't ever happen in boxing.

Boxing is the one sport that disrespects the modern day politically correct climate.

In most instances, the more outspoken and truthful a fighter is, the more tickets he sells. manny pacq making gay jokes. Floyd making filipino jokes.

Boxing celebrates its slightly disrespectful and controversial figures [Jack Johnson, Ali, Mayweather, etc].

I haven't seen many boxers apologize for comments for sure. I think Tyson Fury was forced to give in, but hell, he's in GB and they are ridiculous over there. Worse than in America. I myself, support free speech no matter who it pisses off. The more the better.

I will, say though, I tend to have more respect for guys like Joe Louis and Rocky Marciano who only did their talking in the ring. It's just a matter of styles really, though. The flamboyant and outspoken guys can be a lot of fun.

In the UK the British Board will fine boxers for saying the wrong things in tweets.

Well boxing is more "primal" in it's objective than kicking a ball or throwing something; people are fighting. Rivalries, boasting and "standing man to man" comes as a natural part of it and it's also natural that people with an already rugged mentality gravitate towards it as opposed to tennis or whatever.

So yeah it's not all that strange.

One of the things I like about boxing.

Remember Wilder beating up Zelenoff at the gym?

No fine, no forced apology, no media scrutiny. lol

Now see? Isn't that the definition of loss of freedom of speech? I have no trouble believing this. It's a real shame.
