Agreed - what even happened to the first purse bid order from the wba? Golovkin's absolut eprime is behind him now and I just want to see him in meaningful fights asap. Would like to see Jacobs in good fights too but am less confidant that will happen.
    Jacobs-Lara
    Jacobs-lemieux
    Jacobs-Stevens - (there'd be a bit of animosity there)
Jacobs-Eubank - in UK that does good numbers and money
    Jacobs- saunders
Jacobs - Charlo (if he moves up)

no reason why those fights can't at least be contemplated

How much does Jacobs actually think he's worth? I wonder what that "magic number" is that would satisfy him so that he takes the fight. Jacobs is asking for more money than many of Floyd's opponents made fighting him. Maidana only made $3mil in each of his fights vs Floyd.
Jacobs is wasting GGG's time. WBA should strip him of that regular trinket.

Both sides indeed, both sides are losing time dealing with this. Maidana made a little more than that with his ppv take but then again Maidana was fighting a guy doing north of 500k in buys easily. Danny is at that stage where he could find himself just like Quillin fighting to get back in the spotlight should he take a loss.

I could see them making a purse bid hoping GGG can't fight off of HBO, and vacates, but they might lose the bid, in which case Jacobs will be fighting for much less than he could have negotiated for, or they might win and HBO might allow it, in which case Jacobs still isn't paid what he wants.
Can a fight team lose a purse bid and when it goes the wrong way just pull out before signing contracts?

I'm not bothered by Jacobs doing what he's doing at all, I can understand why he is doing it. I just wish his side would be more public about their issues. Look Jacobs is a great talent with a questionable chin and stands a good chance of having his career derailed but he's willing to take that risk for the right amount, problem is that amount isn't justifiable, at that point you vacate and move on. Same thing I said about Canelo, if you simply vacate people move the fk on with life. You just can't be going out there popping off at the gums and making it seem like the issue isn't you.

Sad to say but Jacobs is in a no win situation! The WBA decision to keep the split 75-25 in favor of GGG is a bold statement. I do think Jacobs deserve at least 30%. The problem Jacobs has is he brings nothing to the table which makes the fight only worth about $4-5 million at best which would give GGG about $3.5 million of that. Someone would have to bid $10 million plus in order for Jacobs to get the specific number in his head. Even Haymon is not going bid that much knowing 75% will go to GGG. The other way out for Jacobs is to give up his title which is the only thing he has going! It's funny we have not heard anything from Jacobs once the GGG/Brooks fight was over. Jacobs has been quiet as a mouse!

I believe Jacobs is comparing his worth to what Brooks made fighting GGG. Jacobs need to understand Brooks has a huge following in the UK & bought a lot to the table & that's why the fight was made in the UK. Jacobs doesn't bring much of anything to the table. The fight is only worth about $5 million at best & $3.5 million will go to GGG. Jacobs might as well give up his title & tuck his tail.

                    ... simple: purse bid...

... if Showtime wins it, go and fight there...

Can't blame Jacobs for wanting top dollar for getting stretched out. His earning potential will be 1/5 of what it was after he gets triple Gee'd.
