Just make the fight. Boxing needs attention again. I think we are hearing this because There has been alot of smoke about Canelo-Pacquaio next year. It looks like an arms race to see who can fight him. Make it .Comment

Where in that article does it say "Golovkin stated" or "Golovkin intimated" or "Golovkin Said"? That rumor has been floating around for years now which first surfaced around the time DiBella stated "I don't want that animal (GGG) for my fighter (Martinez)."Comment

Abel is just stealing the spotlight with this one, the fighter himself has openly stated that after seeing Pacquaio in person that fight would never happen "Too small, guys he is too small. There are weight class for reason. No, no too small."Comment

he also said that about brook and look what happen lol. didn't he said "brook a good fighter but too small". ?Comment

They talk sense based on the natural fighting weight of the potential opponents. Catch-weights are too often used to disadvantage one fighter vs the other (eg Cotto v Geale) by the fighter with the greater negotiating power.
At the end of the day it has to be a fair fight - every catch-weight negotiation is different and it will never be that simple to say there is inconsistency as they are all different situations.
I don't see GGG looking to gain advantage in any of the weight-gain situations, simply looking for a fair fight, eg
v Ward. Ward was naturally big at 168 at the time, and leaning towards being bigger than 168 (so now he's at 175). 168 is big for GGG, so to go up and take on the best-in-class at 168 would have been a bad move.
v Canelo. Canelo is naturally 160+ anyway but uses his age to be able to fight at lower weights. Fair fight with GGG would be 160...nothing less.
v Mayweather. 154 is a big weight for Mayweather and he doesn't hit hard, a weakened Golovkin could potentially walk through anything Mayweather threw and just a question of whether he could get past the defence over the 12. Financially it made sense, and once again, a fair fight.
I see all the negotiations so far as making perfect sense - no inconsistencies at all.Comment

This is absurd. CW's were designed for 2 fighters who are a weight class apart so that they can meet somewhere in the middle in order to make it a "fair fight" as far as weight is concerned. Pac doesnt even weigh in at the WW limit and puts on very few lbs after weigh in. Going to 154 to face GGG would be suicide.Comment

You probably don't see any inconsistencies because you're staring down at ggg's pubic hair with his **** halfway down your throatThey talk sense based on the natural fighting weight of the potential opponents.
