Lara had to get up from two knockdowns to beat mediocre, slow plodder Angulo. The hell he is a better fighter than Monroe or Lemieux. They are both better than guys who fought Lara to a draw. Why does Lara call out GGG and Only GGG? He could call out Jacobs, Saunders, Lee, or Eubank any time since he first started calling out GGG if he really wanted to prove himself as a middleweight. If Lara was good enough to win one of those middleweight belts GGG loves then GGG would fight him right away. As of now GGG has no logical reason to fight Lara. Lara brings neither big money nor excitement to a fight. Beating Lara doesn't earn GGG any prestige or get him one step closer to getting all the middleweights belts which is his clearly stated goal. In the meantime the quality of Lara's last 4 opponents has been extremely poor with only Vanes being a worthy opponent and the other 3 opponents were a complete joke many times worse than Lemieux, Monroe, Wade or Brook.
This should be the automatic response any time a GGG lara thread is made.

Credibility amongst who? Hardcore boxing fans? Haters? Maybe a few, but I surmise that many would find a way to discredit such a win as Lara is a JMW after all.

What impact would fighting Lara (a man that, debated or not, lost to Canelo) do for GGG's career? Let's say they fought, do you think that would raise his star status if he won? Do you think others would all of a sudden start sacrificing their requests for career high paydays to fight him? Do you think the haters would turn to lovers?

You want him to fight bums while hoping for a Canelo fight instead of quality fighters? His resume is fucking embarrassing and is the biggest complaint from genuine boxing fans. Yes fighting quality fighters will add to his star power because believe it or not there's more than 97k boxing fans in America.

Whoa, I never said I hope he fights bums, so careful there. I actually agreed that Lara would be a step up in class from the Monroe's and Wades of the world.

However, Lara brings little else to the table other than being a slightly better level of opposition. He is a JMW, not a MW, so should GGG fight him and win, he'd get knocked for that. He also is an extremely technical fighter that is not fan friendly in the slightest.

If you honestly think fighting a Cuban who...

          -can't sell in Miami,

-demands purses vastly different from his earning power,

          - would probably make for a boring fight

would somehow make GGG a bigger draw then we have no further to go with this discussion, because that is nonsense.

Lara lost a close decision to Alvarez, defeated Trout by decision and had a draw with Martirosyan and than won a decision in their second fight.
The only other name guy on his resume was cement footed Angullo who had Lara down twice before being stopped in the 10th.
Lara's an excellent defensive fighter, but he fights in spurts and lacks ko power. Carlos Molina fought him to a draw (lots of people thought Carlos won that fight). Molina pressured Lara and beat him up on the inside, basically giving a game plan on how to beat the Cuban.
Lara should stay at 154 or test the waters at 160 with Lemieux or Stevenson cause he's not ready for Golovkin (and that fight is not a PPV attraction. IMO

The truth is even if Laras team sent a offer it'd be dismissed as fast as the Ward offer was dismissed

this demands part of your post is such bullsh.it. He fought Canelo for a million fought Zavek for a million. I've never heard Lara say he wants more $ or $ was a reason why a fight never got made

I mean they can afford to pay Wade 500k but Lara getting in the ballpark of a million is pricing himself out

                  Yeah ok

K2 doesn't want the fight because it has the possibility to make Gennady look bad if not lose that's the reason

maybe, doesn't change the fact that Lara is head and shoulder a better fighter than anyone g string has fought so far.
