Injuries making Canelo go to 160?

Canelo was seen lately for his last fights with bandages. During training and during fights.

Bandages near his ankles and calfs, bandages on his elbows, etc.

Do his team relate them to dehydration? are they going to 160 to protect his health? or is it because he has even harder fights at 154?

Are you talking about the kinesthetic tape? Many athletes use it. Going up in weight doesn't mean you don't use it anymore. It's one of those alternative therapies like ice baths, etc.

I would HOPE that they're going to fight a few at 160 in preparation for GGG. Emphasis on hope...

Yes. Using them during fights is also normal? he used in his calves against Khan.

Yea, I thought that was real interesting. Especially since he seems to have a pretty old school team. Olympic runners use Kinesio-tape, among others, so it's not unusual to use it in competition. But, I've never seen a boxer use it so that was a nice surprise. I use it on occasion as it helps ease nagging tendons. Tendons are very hard to treat so you do whatever you can because rest is not an option for someone like him.

If you ever get a continual shooting pain from tendinitis, give it a try.

^Sometimes they make it look artistic.
Other times they just keep it functional, like below.

Do you think he has tendon injuries/pain?
Do you think they can be because of dehydration?

No, tendon issues come from over-use or improper use. The place Canelo had them was for the calf. He likely got calf pains in training and they used the tape to ease it a bit. It's odd how it works but it has something to do with blood flow I believe. Hydration issues can cause muscle cramps but you would never treat that with KT tape.

He was wearing bandages so that later when they use injuries as an excuse they can point to those pictures and say it was for real. Canelo is shook.
