Marquez is up there with JC Chavez Sr in terms of popularity, respect, and balls. They never dropped a belt and ran under mommy's skirt when the boogey man was around. The current odd in the UK are at 11-4 in favor of GGG and as if fishnet keeps marinating this fight, people will lose interest because everyone knows this will be aone-sided fight.

        The legend speaks the truth.

It makes absolutely no sense at all for Golovkin to just move up in weight when Canelo is fighting at MW. Yes, I know Canelo didn't fight at MW in his last fight, but he held the MW belt and is expected to move up permanently. If Canelo is the biggest name in the sport, why move out of his weight class to move up to one where there isn't anyone rivaling Canelo's, Or Golovkin's level for that matter? His team has stated multiple times that they're willing to move up only for a big name ie. Froch, Chavez Jr., who are the two biggest names north of 160.

Also, I'm reading a lot of bad arguments here. The worst of them is "If Canelo is ducking Golovkin, then why doesn't Golovkin just move up and fight someone else instead of waiting for Canelo?"

umm... No. If Canelo is ducking Golovkin, then Canelo needs to be called out and exposed and pressured to fight Golovkin. Golovkin shouldn't move out and give the guy a break for ducking him. Canelo needs to get put on blast then, and Marquez realizes it.

let this sink in, Cotto made 12mil TOTAL for Mayweather
Well they should offer GGG 35%, it will be less than $10 million ur opinion. If ppv fails GGG looses, he will earn less than $ 10 million, if the ppv succeeds GGG might earn more than $10 million. Let the market deciede what he is worth. GGG does not deserve more than 40%.

Canelo can come straight to 160 and fight Saunders,Jacobs and Lemiuex next year and leave GGG fighting mandatories and no hopers...That is the honest to God truth..GGG needs to takes loss in negotiation to get a huge win in the ring
Well I agree with you and especially about the $10 million - or take $6 million and some upside or a 15-20 / 85-80 split with rematch clause.

But where did you hear that Jacobs would fight for $2 million? - references?

golovkin controls all of boxing from behind the scenes just like the russians "made up" the rigged ******** primary

every time my wife gets mad at me i just tell her it was a soviet shapeshifter she was speaking to and i was kidnapped

Every great fighter has their critics. Fact of the matter is Canelo called him out and the fight has so much interest he would be a fool to give into pressure from a few people who obviously support Canelo and favor him as the face of the sport. I still say take the 10 mil and make yourself the face.
A year ago i had Golovkin a huge favorite Ive changed my mind so that I only see Golovkin as a slight favorite
1/ Canelo looked superb against Cotto and pretty damn good against Smith. People write off that Smith win because they had never heard of him but I think he will come back at 154 and be in some great fights that will give Canelo's win more gloss. Canelo in short is a still improving fighter and is entering his prime.
2/ GGG looked flawed against Brook. Sure he went in with different tactics because he knew he would get out-boxed but still ... even so he looked flawed. The dynamite that landed on Khan's chin was fatal but put that same punch on any MW's chin and I don't care who they are .... at the very least they're getting seriously wobbled and possibly going down. And then, as I have said for more than a year now - GGG is past his absolute prime and that is why delaying this fight one year from Sept '16 when it should have happened to Sept '17 when it may possibly happen is likely to swing the fight another few % points in Canelo's favor.

I think Team GGG know all this. They want a bigger percentage because they could lose and then what? Anybody think there will be a line of fighters waiting to line up to fight Golovkin even if he has 1 loss on his record?
