Fighting at SMW is realistic and I've no doubt it will happen. But he's got other goals at MW to achieve first.

Why would he want anything to do with the JMW's?

your point is valid, a split is fair, but the more likely scenario is that if ggg doesnt take the offer he gets a middle finger and the fight wont happen next year, we all know that benefits canelo a lot... imo a win over canelo could bring a lot more for ggg than a split... but we just have to wait and see how this unfolds...

        The fight would be HUGE.

GG plays a part in making it huge.

The fight could realistically generate $70-80m if not more.

What's wrong with a percentage split? It can still be in Canelo's favour.
Why will it be huge? It will be huge because Canelo will be going up against someone who most people think will beat him. Casuals don't care about Golovkin. They care that Canelo might lose. Canelo has all the leverage. If Golovkin doesn't like the $10m offer Canelo won't sweat. He'll make big $$$ against anyone.

It's not apples and oranges, it's the exact same principle, irrespective of the specific figures.

It's not the same principle. Pac had options. And those options allowed him to make more than that in two fights. GGG doesn't have options & would have to fight 5 bums to make what Canelo is offering. Pac was on PPV every fight after that offer. GGG can't get on PPV without Canelo!

Hopkins was at a similar stage. Fighting bums & people complaining.

With boxing PPV sales suffering from a hangover from Floyd/Pac and g string not able to command very high PPV sales either, my guess is about 40 million. Out of that everyone gets paid. If g string gets 10 million, do you really think that team Canelo (the one who brings in 95%of the money) will fight for 20-25 million? Not on your life!

Major league differences between Pac/Floyd and Canelo/g string. Both Floyd and Pac were established PPv stars and had options. That's why the fight took so long to make. Canelo is as close to a PPV star as there is today and has options. Canelo is only in his twenties and will make at least 5 million no matter who he fights. g string is kicking 35 in the arse and if he won't take this fight then he has few options and none of them will net him even a 3 million dollar payday (unless he suddenly becomes willing to fight the Ward/Kov winner).

When was the last time a fighter with ZERO quality wins got a ten million dollar offer to fight anyone?
                1. It takes TWO fighters to create a huge fight.

                2. How on earth would it generate only $40m??

                Cotto-Canelo generated $58m from 900,000 buys.

                3. Canelo wouldn't bring in 95% of the buys.

                4. How can GG not earn $3m from future fights?

                You're absolutely clueless.

For me their decision making over the last two years has made me doubt them so much. Yes there are fighters who are not that willing to get in the ring with GGG but at the same time there are fighters who are willing to.

I just hope we get better competition with him soon enough, But it seems contrary to what they are sprouting out Team GGG are just about making money off GG back.

Exactly, thats all were asking and his fanboys swear like we hating on him or somethijg.

[B]1[/B ]You think he's ducking because he hadn't signed the contract? SMH. Why would he sign a BS contract a year in advance?

[B]2[/B ] Yes, he accepted step-aside, because he knew Cotto was never going to fight him, and it gave him the opportunity to fight for the IBF belt in the meantime.

[B]3[/B ] How is winning the lineal MW belt at a CW the same as defending against Rosado?

[B]1[/B ] Why? To secure teh fight. Damn a fighter you swear is ducking you but he offers you a contract to fight him and you refuse to sign damn so you have faith this ducking coward will offer you the fight again in a year and with better terms and money? lmfao sure.....

[B]2[/B ] Excuses. "I Did this bicthmove cause we know what he was gonna do, nevermind that I could have prevented the title bout if i had not accepted step aside money, instead i accepted the money and and claim they ducking me, double win"

[B]3[/B ] A belts a belt at teh end of the day, and ggg aint crying about lineal he only wants teh belts. He cried over the belt being contested at a catchweight, yet he didnt care about putting up his belt at a catchweight for Rosado. hypocrite much.

Given the circumstance, 10 million more than fair.
As Canelo's opponent, GG would help generate well over a million PPV's.

In doing so, he would give Canelo his biggest payday to date.

You are only looking from one perspective.
