Have to give manny props he's really a 135 pounder over eats to be a welter these guys dwarf him his foot and hand speed are legendary or else he is so physically out matched. And the vitamins helped bulk up too lol. But he should ice a few guys at 135-140.

That was many years ago , men grow and get heavier denser bigger muscles and boxing is weight the scales tell us since 2008 Manny is a WW , he talks about being 135 which is BS he cant make 140 today its nothing more than a sympathy vote for the little guy which is all BS he out weighs a lot of guys he has fought coming up and drains the bigger guys .

The size difference is what everyone is talking about. Manny is mature. He’s a much bigger person than he used to be. He’s not that skinny, 112-pound kid anymore. He weighs 152 pounds right now [a few weeks before the fight]. His body fat is six percent. He’s coming down to 147, not going up. He’s coming down, just like Oscar is. The biggest thing is, when someone goes up a weight class and fights and then comes back down to his original weight class, he usually has bad results. You see it in history. It happened to Roy Jones [who went from light heavyweight to heavyweight and back down]. Oscar will suffer to make 147; and I think he’ll be weaker as a result. I don’t think the bigger guy will be the stronger guy on Dec. 6. He’ll be taller, maybe a little heavier, but not stronger. Manny will be the bigger puncher, the faster puncher, the busier guy. Activity is my biggest thing. And Manny is better prepared for that. We fought four times this year. Oscar hasn’t fought four times in four years. I think speed and activity wins this fight, not size.

FYI, apparently you don't realize what an American is. It is someone who can come from any part of the planet and is not tied to any particular origin, nationality, or race so yes, Vargas who was born and raised here is a compatriot American as the other guy said. His lifestyle and culture is engrained in the place he has lived. Proof of that is the fact that fans south of the border rooted overwhelmingly in favor of Chavez vs De La Hoya. It was culture vs culture. Oscar would never be able to endear himself to people south of the border like Chavez did. Try telling people down south that Oscar was one of them and they would laugh at you. Chavez was one of them. Huge separation.
