  • Comments Thread For: Lomachenko: At 135 - I'm Ready For Pacquiao, 140 is Too Much

Earlier this week, Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach was in full agreement with Bob Arum's idea for 2017 - to make a dream fight between Manny Pacquiao (58-6-2, 38KOs) vs. Vasyl Lomachenko (6-1, 4KOs).

Fight shouldn't even be entertained as a possibility. Loma shouldn't be jumping to 140 and likewise Manny's not getting down to 135.

Manny making 135 or even 140 is bogus, old Manny will never drain himself, that's a catastrophe win or lose

This fight is a whiles away. I think we'll get Crawford/Manny before we get Manny/Loma...

Now that Manny is on his way out, I think Arum would also be OK with Manny losing to both Crawford and Loma...

However, if Manny gets an impressive KO vs Vargas, is a Floyd rematch possible?...and if so, it sets back both the Crawford and Loma fight...

My thinking is that Arum wants Manny to fight both Loma and Crawford (to give each give big exposure) because eventually Loma and Crawford fighting each other would be a huge in house PPV for Top Rank.

The one upside to all this, is that Manny's next fight won't be a dud at least...And fighting Crawford would actually be one of the biggest challenges of his career

Manny wouldn't be drained at 140... at 135 maybe he would though... Manny might actually be very dangerous and fast at 140... I think it's too much for Loma to chew off right now...EVEN IF he handles Walters with ease.

This fight shouldn't be getting any hype whatsoever. This is ridiculous and shows how promoters (Arum in this case) don't want to go out of their stable and only want to make profitable fights, not necessarily good fights. What's the point of this fight? Why is Crawford being overlooked for this fight? He would make more sense for both fighters if we're talking about weight, right? Instead of Pac fighting Thurman, Garcia, Spence, Brook, Khan, Crawford, Porter, etc., we are talking about him going down 2 divisions to fight VLom?!?! And VLom is more interested if Vargas shows that Pac has lost a step? Get out of here with this crap.

This is where Arum comes in! He will make Loma an offer he can't refuse! If Loma beats Walters, then I think Arum will make Pacquiao vs. Lomachenko @ 140. Meanwhile, what does Crawford do? Where's his "big fight?"
