Comments Thread For: Charlo vs. Williams Finalized, IBF Purse Bid Canceled

While not a breaking news story, the International Boxing Federation (IBF) saw fit to confirm its recently announced super welterweight title fight.

A purse bid hearing had been scheduled for the mandated showdown between defending titlist Jermall Charlo and unbeaten contender Julian Williams, but the session was formally canceled as both sides have agreed to a December clash

    Good fight. I got Williams.

But it is absolutely insane that two good, ascending fighters, who aren't yet draws, who have the same adviser and fight on the same networks took this long to make a deal. This is one of the main reasons why boxing is so frustrating. Haymon needs to put his foot down on his spoiled b**** once in a while.

he said fighters that aren't yet proven and aren't yet draws. Manny is a legend and a huge draw. Crawford is a huge draw at home and a bigger draw than either of these guys on the road and just knocked off the undefeated #2 fighter in his division and is a 2 weight 3 time champion. No comparision at all.

Im talking about manny the midget cherrypicking old ass bradley and vargas instead of fighting crawford who has the same network and promoter as himself....

Two good fighters, but only 12 casuals know who they are. This is probably what Oscar is referring to. These guys are not promoted well. Makes you really wonder if they would be doing well if they're not with Haymon. Even Dibella fighters are more well-known.

Crawford is just the equivalent of these guys, yet Crawford is far well-known.

Your a boxing "business" guy and you dont u derstand why?

This fight wasnt as big last year. Both building up to this. Neither is "known" but were less known a year ago.

Business guys wanna argue the % and pay of fighters but dont understand this?

And no fighting eachother earlier wont make it better cause in boxing you lose once and your shot, not good, hype, or like a poster said about Imam had his soul taken.

I can go on and on. Boxing fans are fickle and if they had it their way there would be only one fighter fighting no one
