I don't get how people will boast of 4 million amateur fights, then say "his 2nd fight doe" when talking about Salido. You can't have it both ways. If it was 20 fights ago, OK. But, it was only a few fights ago. Do you really think he's developed all that much from a couple cans and a broken ex champ?

Loma has a very good chance of beating Walters, no doubt, but people aren't thinking this one through. Expect a competitive fight.

Amateur boxing is very different, primarily in pacing. The history of pro boxing would be very different if it was 3 rounds only

GRJ is probably #1 at FW, better than anyone Walters has beaten

I honestly have no idea. I feel Lomo has the goods but it's such a big step up that I could see him getting chopped down. I waffle back and forth on who I think will win. Gun to my head Walters but we shall see.

I never thought or even implied it was the same. I'm referring to fans that use Loma's amateur record as proof of greatness, then quickly discard it when making an excuse for the Salido loss.

I respect him for fighting Walters now. But I have a feeling he's not ready to fight at that level yet. If he beat Walters, I will regard him as one of the best boxers in the world. But what if he loses? What will people think about him then? Will it hurt his career a lot?

Did Pac-Man's loss to Singsurat hurt his career a lot? What do you think of him now?

I have never seen anyone say that Loma's amateur record is any proof that he is a great pro already.
They do say that he's one of the greatest amateurs, if not the greatest amateur fighter of all time, which he does have a case for, but greatness as a pro I have never seen one person ever claim that. I'm sure there are people saying that, but you should know by now how some fans/people are. Stop getting so hurt about ****** little things like that.
There's a difference between someone saying he was a great amateur and a great pro. Some of you people just want to complain about any little thing I swear.

Let's have a bet. I have Loma and you take Walters.

Of course that's not what I said. You've seen people here use his amateur record to illustrate his greatness, you just did it yourself. He's short on quality pro fights and I absolutely think it's fair to weigh in his amateur record when considering how good the guy is. I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of dropping the amateur record when it's convenient to the argument, then acting as if it's irrelevant.

Regarding betting; lol. You think I'm against Loma or something?? I don't have a dog in this fight. I like Loma a always look forward to catching this fight. Don't go the route of the hardcore ggg fan and get offended at reasonable criticism. I brought up some relevant facts. If you think Walters is a hopeless pile of dogshyt, then I expect you will not ever bring him up when defending Loma's resume should he win. Personally, I think it could go either way and will be a fantastic win for either guy.

"At that level yet." What? Loma has fought at the very highest levels of amateur boxing and he has gotten BETTER with each. I literally have no doubt his skill and ability will allow him to come out on top against the Axe man.

That's a very good post. I have to agree. Except that I don't think Lomachenko got too much of a chance, but I've been wrong before.

Walters didn't look entirely great in his last fight as drew against a pretty basic opponent.
