I think Golovkin should take the money and settle it once and for all. I suspect GBP will spin some other yarn after he does take the deal to avoid the fight. If the fight does happen you can be sure Golovkin will be primed and ready for the most important fight in his career. Not sure if Canelo wants to be on the other side of that motivation.

The only way the Jacobs fight doesn't get made is if Jacobs vacates.

Eubank would be an option.

BJS is also an option.

If BJS beats Canelo, he'll be the priority.

If Canelo beats BJS, it takes him out of the equation for both guys.

If GG-Canelo couldn't reach a compromise to fight, GG would have the option of moving up. Whereas Canelo could only fight CW's or MW's who would be no longer relevant.

Golovkin couldn't make a meaningful fight if his life depended on it, it is far more likely that Canelo will fight those guys before Golovkin does..... I would say that Saunders/Canelo is already on the table, I would just about bet my life that fight happens.

Seeing as they're currently deep in negotiations, GG has to be the favourite to fight Jacobs first.

The WBO have notified BJS that he now only has to fight one mandatory, which he'll fight next month. So he'll be free to negotiate with early next year. If Canelo is out injured and he's going to fight Cotto first, that would give K2 time to try and negotiate for a fight.

If Canelo fights Cotto next then Golovkin has a little more time, but if not then he will likely fight Saunders next before making Golovkin another offer.....

you could be right about Jacobs, Canelo may not have any interest in the WBA interim title, the WBO title will give him all the leverage he needs

It's not K2 who's holding up the fight, it's Oscar De La Hoya. He is the one who doesn't want the fight until next Septemember, and he's the one who won't sit down to reach a fair compromise on a percentage split.

I agree. Just make the fight at 160, take the 10 mill and utterly destroy the diva. I mean beat the brakes off of her so badly that she just quits, turns her back away and takes a knee...."no mas".

Then it will be over with and GGG can move up or whatever but at least he will have exposed both ODLH and the diva for the frauds that they are.

Canelo is asking GGG to sign right now, agreeing terms for a fight that won't happen for at least another year.

Boxing has NEVER worked like that, EVER.

Oscar said the target is september 2017, Ward also took the Kovalev fight with 2 more stay busy fights.
Im still a little bit hopeful this one happens someday, but I have the feeling they'll milk this one like May-Pac
